Join us in providing medicine for this year's medical camps! The cost to provide medicine for 700-1,000 people is around $5,000, which we need by OCTOBER 17. We have been hosting these annual medical camps since 2011, and have seen the powerful impact it has had on the communities we serve. They allow people living in slums or impoverished rural areas to access free health and medical care who otherwise would not be able to. We offer them health check-ups, medical treatment, and necessary medicines, in addition to educational seminars about healthy living.  These annual medical camps continue to have an incredible impact on the health of the men, women, and children living in those communities! Challenge People living in slums or rural villages in Kolkata often struggle to access proper medical care. For many, it's their financial condition that makes them unable to address health needs. For others, it is the lack of transportation or the distance to clinics and hospitals that stands in the way of getting their needs met. The living environment in these areas is often destructive and toxic, making sickness and disease rise even more quickly. Solution We are hosting eight days of medical camps in November to provide free medical care, medicines, and health awareness seminars for these communities. Care offered includes general health, dental, optometry, dermatology, gynecology, and pharmaceutical. There will be camps in two different slums, and one camp in a rural area, serving over 30 villages. We plan on serving around 2,500 people this year!  Long-Term Impact Since 2011, these annual medical camps have resulted in thousands of people gaining access to treatment and care. LIVES ARE CHANGED and communities are becoming healthier! With continued donations, we plan to increase our capacity for frequent health follow-ups throughout the year with access to free or low cost medicines and testing. People in impoverished communities can continue to live healthier lives through the continuous efforts of the medical camps hosted by Kolkata City Mission.   THANK YOU for your support and generosity!
